Everybody has one, and everybody uses them, but not many people understand the risk of plugging a USB Storage Key into their computer. A USB key can store anything, including malware and viruses which can infect your machine that’s tagged along with the legitimate data. A USB Key has no way of knowing it’s loaded with malware as it’s just a storage device, and you won’t be able to tell.
Always practice safe use of USB keys by making sure every machine you use it in has up to date Anti Virus and don’t automatically trust that any USB key you use will be safe.
