While you may not think it, your computer is and will always be the target of attacks from the bad guys. Any computer is a potential target not only for identity theft, but for using as a SPAM replay or to further infect local networks. Keep all your applications up to date and run Anti Virus. Sophos has just reported on a new outbreak of Apple OSX malware targeting holes in Java which is installed by default on OSX machines. If you dont use Java, consider uninstalling it and if you do, make sure you keep it up to date.
