Please be aware of scam emails being sent to staff and students with subject title “Fw: invoice”. These messages are being sent from ANU accounts and contains a malicious zip file named “info_invoice.zip”.

If you have received the message or anything similar, please do not open it and submit it as an attachment to it.security@anu.edu.au. If you have open the file and are unsure whether you have been infected, please:
– Remove your computer from the network (if it’s wired, unplug the cable)
– Shutdown your computer

Update: Sophos antivirus has released a vaccine and it now seems able to detect and remove the malware, which has been labeled as “Mal/Dyreza-U”. If you suspect you have been infected, please make sure you have the most updated version of Sophos and perform a full scan on your computer.
